Welcome to Krumpelmann Studios where thoughtful and balanced inquiry mixes with playfulness and a bit of adventurism to create delightful outcomes in art and architecture. As an architect and artist, Joe has been involved in the design industry for over thirty years. Starting his career at some of the larger architecture firms in Minneapolis, working on large-scale projects, he found himself gravitating toward smaller to medium sized projects in the latter half of his career where greater interaction with clients and more intimate involvement with design felt more aligned with his own rhythm. Methodical and logical processes combine with light-heartedness to create solutions that not only serve their function but also add joy to the daily experience of being alive. Despite having won a few awards for creative architectural design, Joe finds his greatest joy in building synergistic and engaging relationships with clients and contractors where the respectful coalescing of ideas always leads to results that everyone can be proud of.

While focusing primarily on residential and light commercial and retail, it doesn't really matter what a client's program might be, nor a project's scale, Krumpelmann Studios is here to help everyone achieve satisfying outcomes.
