Twin Peaks

This project is located high atop a steeply sloped peninsula jutting out into Harriet Lake in Northern Minnesota. Too far from public water or power utilities, it incorporates several sustainable design strategies to make it usable and comfortable year-round. The sloped twin peaks, one on the house and one on the garage, are shaped and oriented so that solar panels can take full advantage of the south sun. An underground geothermal heat transfer system reduces power loads on the heating and cooling systems. The tall interior spaces comfortably fit lofts and are daylit with skylights running along the ridge. The project was authored by Joe while employed with CF Design.

The project will complete construction the summer of 2027.
